Under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The Office of the Brand of Abu Dhabi (OBAD) is launching a photography competition "Abu Dhabi Through Your Eyes". This is a chance for you to enter a photograph that you have taken and believe captures the spirit of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It could be anything from a modern cityscape to something that represents our unique heritage and culture, or perhaps you will feel inspired by Liwa’s majestic sand dunes or Al Ain’s green oasis. Whatever you decide to submit, we want to see "Abu Dhabi Through Your Eyes".

We are offering cash prizes for the 10 winners, who will be selected by our panel of judges, consisting of professional photographers and experts selected by OBAD.

In addition the five semi-finalists will receive a cash prize of AED 10,000 each.

How to enter

Submit your unpublished photographs, that reflect Abu Dhabi through your eyes, along with a completed competition entry form either in person at OBAD or at the OBAD photography exhibition stand at the following venues by the 31st July 2008.

Terms & Conditions

Participants must submit entries with a completed competition entry form firmly secured to the back of their photograph in one of two ways:

In person at OBAD Headquarters – 9th Floor, ADNIC Building, Khalifa Street, Abu Dhabi. Entries accepted from 9am-6pm, Sunday – Thursday

At the OBAD photography exhibition stands at participating shopping malls on dates outlined on the competition entry form

Photographic entries must be received at the OBAD Headquarters by 6pm on 31st July 2008. Late entries will not be accepted

Participants can submit a maximum of three photographs. Please note that each photograph requires a separate entry form

Incomplete entry forms or absence of required information may disqualify the entry

Entries must be submitted as a digital file on a CD or memory stick together with a print (no larger than A4 size)

The name, email address and telephone number of the entrant must be written on the reverse of each print

The digital image must be of sufficient size and resolution for the judges to assess the sharpness and quality of the image (we recommend a minimum of 1800 x 2700 pixels) and not less than 300 dpi. Entrants may crop images before submission

Prints/photographs must be free of any borders, watermarks or signatures and must not be digitally enhanced. Normal balancing and toning of a digital image is allowed, other electronic alterations or manipulations to images are not permitted

Entry forms are available from www.brand.abudhabi.ae or at the OBAD photography exhibition stands at participating shopping malls

The competition is open to both professional and amateur photographers

Submitted photographs must be the work of the entrant and must not have been previously published

Photographers must be a UAE citizen or resident, and must be over the age of 16

Winners will be notified by phone or email by September 2008

Winning entries must agree to provide OBAD the copyright of the winning images in exchange for the prize value. OBAD reserves the right to use photography of winners in the promotion of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a tourist or investment destination

Any commercial entities wishing to use winners’ photographs for commercial purposes will negotiate a separate usage fee directly with the winners (through OBAD)

The decision of the judges is final

Entries will not be returned after submission to OBAD
