Want to buy a point & shoot cam worth less than 800 dirhams. Any suggestions? Just want to have something to use in situations where a DSLR seems out of place.

Went to GrandStore 2 days ago.  I was about to buy sb800 pero hindi natuloy....    sudden change of mind.. but i found this point & shoot Nikon coolpix priced at 575aed.  check it out.  yan eh kung gusto mo parin ng nikon. -cheers

Nadisappoint ako sa Nikon when I tested one of its P&S's eh. Made in China pa. Among all the P&S brands, parang Sony ang pinaka-OK sa mga na-test ko. With 1 year international warranty din. Major considerations ko are portability (small and light), discreet style, low shutter lag and start-up time, saka ability to take good photos even in low light conditions. Planning to use it in family gatherings and night-outs with friends, so it must be really fast, portable and capable of taking good pictures.

Sony W130

Kaso lahat sila hindi pumasok sa budget ko. Closest to 800 AED is Sony W130 at 999 AED.

Do you know na meron nang P&S ang GE? Yep, GE! Was surprised to see 3 models kanina sa Lulu Island, este Supermarket.

Good looking. Nice ang design and built. 1 model even has a non-protruding lens like the ones from Sony Cybershot T-series. They're relatively cheap at 400 to 600 price range. Just don't know if these GE P&S deliver quality images.
