Jude, try Al Marwa Studio behind Sun and Sands building at Hamdan Street.. A4 photo prints cost 25 AED per page and at 10 photo pages at 20 AED each.. They use a Kyocera Laser Photo printer on Kodak Paper..

Take note, standard portfolio size for photos is 8 x 10 inches

Im not sure whether this is price is cheap or not but we are satisfied with the color prints made by them..

Thanks thru the information by our fellow member Derek, I have visited Photo Palace Store. The studio behind Emax at Hamdan street.. I made 17 photo prints in 8 x 10 size in color and black & white for 12 AED each.. They make 8 x 12 prints also for the same price..

Last meeting a comparison was made between photos printed from 3 different shops. The photos I've sent for printing in photo palace came out with an acceptable quality based on my own taste and preference.

Good quality always comes with a high price..

Comparisons were made on 4 studios namely:

1.Gulf Colour Film Photography
Fujifilm paper
8x12 and 8x10 = Dhs. 30.00/print
fixed price
High end studio.

2.Al Marwa Studio
Fujifilm paper
8x12 and 8x10 =  Dhs. 20.00/print
they can give Dhs. 17.00
Small studio.

3.Al Jazeera Studio
Kodak Professional paper
8x12 and 8x10 =  Dhs. 25.00/print
discount is based on the quantity to be printed
Small studio.

4.Photo Palace & Store
Kodak Royal paper
8x12 = Dhs. 15.00/print
8x10 = Dhs. 13.00/print
They can give a discount of Dhs. 12.00
Small studio.


Comparisons were made on based on the photo printed as is, no adjustments made on their machine.

Printing machines used were Kyocera and Noritsu.

Out of the 4 studios the one from Emirates Photo Palace came out best which is also cheaper.  


Note:
All the studio can adjust your photos based on your requirements (underexposed, overexposed, adjustment of contrast and brightness, cropping).


I have also asked from Grandstores the cost of printing an 8x12 is Dhs. 20.00 (fixed price).

For those who were not able to see the comparison, we'll present the same set of photos on the next meeting.

Good news!!! I went to Palace print and kabayan emily charged me for 10 dirhams/ 8X10 print. i told her i was referred by derek. Boss derek kilalang kilala ka doon ah. hehehe. i told her that more will come to have their photos develop. i am going there tomorrow for my additional print again.
