Has anyone tried to ship a camera lens to "inang bayan" via emirates speed post?

I haven't. But I think it's safe if you ship it inside a box full of bubble wraps via courier. Thru Emirates Post, I don't know.

I've tried sending other fragile items to the Philippines this way and I've never encountered any problems.

Kuya Jun, ano'ng balita dito? Safe ba magpadala ng fragile items like lenses via Empost? Or via courier like Aramex or UPS? How much? How long did it take to reach the destination?

Jeff, I haven't tried sending them yet. I got a quotation from aramex and a single lens (sigma 10-20mm) will cost about AED 650 and would take 3 days (manila).. If it got held in phil customs you have to pay for other tariffs..

Sending via empost registered express cost about AED 120.. Takes 3 to 5 days (manila).. same applies if it got held in customs.

I have tried sending around 5+ Kgs to my city in Cagayan de oro(Down south in Mindanao)

I checked the tracking data at their website, it says UAE Abu Dhabi to Dubai, Dubai to manila, Manila to Cagayan de Oro

box containing Canon EOS 400D Rebel Xti + box and all accessories, Sigma 18-200mm DC OS + box, Tamrac Bag, Seamonkey Kit and Tea Bags

I forgot the price, but im sure not over 200
they weighted the box till the last gram

arrived a big longer than expected around 14 days because
of weekends and the many holidays in philippines that time.

pero no damage to items whatsoever. my brother confirmed it and was happy with the items.
