There’s a light of hope when you light a hope.

Lightsource Filipino Photographers will gather together on Friday, September 12th , for the club’s 7th meeting with the theme "Hope".

We aim to capture various images depicting hope. Let’s use our imagination to create a unique interpretation of people, things, or events that make us believe that a positive outcome is possible even during tough times.

Bring your best hope photo in JPEG format saved in a flash drive, memory card, or CD. Be prepared to describe your photo in at least 10 sentences. As usual, a special prize awaits the best shutterbug.

Two members will also do a demo and share their insights on Nikon SB-800 AF Speedlight. We will use this flash as light source to see how it fares in real-life situations and to know if buying this piece of accessory is worth the extra bucks.

Agenda also includes introduction of new members, issuance of receipts to paid members, and some good news (or perhaps bad, depending on how you perceive things) to all members.

Please bring a passport-size photo for the ID and 150.00 AED for those who haven’t paid the fee yet.

A nominal amount of 10.00 AED will be collected from paid members and 20.00 AED from members who have yet to pay for their membership. The collected amount will be added to our fund for future activities.

Time: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Venue: Starbucks Coffee, Khalidiya (if traveling via taxi: Building after Dana Plaza in Khalidiya)

Please confirm your attendance.

Thanks Derek for your support by bringing your flash guns.. Now we can experiment with lighting the subject in 3 different points.

Everyone will appreciate if you could share your insights and experiences in using the SB800..

All we need now is someone to model for us..

Come to think of it... We will be finding out the functions and capabilities of the SB800 first.

What I meant by saying, getting a model, was, we could ask one of our members, whom is courageous enough to volunteer and model for us..

The venue where to do the lighting experiments should be decided..

Sure, Fhaye. There are limited seats in the venue, but it's ok to bring someone with you. However, as per our new policy, an attendance fee of 20 AED has to be paid by non-members. I hope that ain't an issue.

Don't forget to bring 160 AED (150 for your membership and 10 for your attendance) tomorrow. If you can't pay 160, you can just pay 20 for the attendance alone.

Hope you could also participate in our photo critique. Who knows you'll win the prize... See you, Fhaye.
