From gulf news...

"The world's largest and record breaking fireworks display will light up the Abu Dhabi sky on December 2.

The fireworks display is part of a line-up of events organised by the Emirates Palace to celebrate the 37th National Day of UAE.

The fireworks will begin at 20.30 hrs lasting for 45 minutes, and will be visible along the Abu Dhabi Corniche and across the Emirates Palace Marina, said a statement from the Emirates Palace.

On the eve of National Day, December 1, a unique laser show will light up the night sky commencing at 18:00hrs. The show will run every evening until December 3."

--------------------------

Sa mga interested to shoot fireworks display.. Marami kaming ready to shoot sa events.. Mag send na lang ng text any time kung nasa corniche beach or marina kayo to meet up.

Preparation :

Bring your tripods and some small or DIY bean bags for those who own light tripods.. Very important to prevent vibration in taking photos at slow shutter speed.

Check your camera manual how to set the shutter to 'bulb' mode.. Applicable only if you have a remote release cable for your camera.. Otherwise use timer with mirror lock up to prevent blur image..

Use wide angle lenses if you have or set your lens to the widest focal length.

Good position to shoot fireworks is in building roof tops, so nobody can disturb your tripod & camera setup..

Allan & butch... Magandang location for shoot ay yung sa park sa likod ng marina mall at sa may parking lot end of the break water.. Anticipate there will be a lot of people there..

Sabi sa news there will be 7 different locations for the fireworks display.. Kung meron sana maka-pag scout mamaya sa laser light show mamaya we can find where there will be lesser crowd..

watch this forum for details where to meet.

kuya jun you can count me in, i can try to be there at 4 or 5 para makakita tayo ng the best na location, but first we need to know kung san manggagaling ung fireworks. sa likod ba ng emirates palace or sa lulu island, kc kung sa likod ng emirates palace we can include the palace and fireworks.

Probably sa Lulu Island is where the fireworks will be ignited.. It is the only safe place where fireworks can be stored and ignited considering fire safety.

Isip ko lang kung lahat tayo nasa isang location di kaya maging pareho ang mga shots at framing ng photos natin.

Ideal talaga kung sa top of buildings overlooking the sea and the bay. Makukuha pa yung light reflections sa water.. kung sa ground the black sky and the moon will be your back ground.

maybe we have to go early as posible to get a better location or ask a pyrotechnique personel were's the Poonton (poonton is a floating bagre where the fireworks is placed/positioned) or the highlight of the fireworks..

Thanks Vincent for the information..

This means the best location for shooting the fireworks will be the park behind the marina mall.. or wait for some notice we will scout some place better for us

Titz I like your idea, para naman maiba nga yung perspective ng shots natin and we have a wide area coverage of the event (hanep media talk na toh).. We can station ourselves into 3 different areas...

WE can inform tomorrow morning dito sa forum where are the three locations where we could meet up.. Contact each other na lang by phone..

Any members who wish to join the shoot can go to any of the 3 different locations whichever is accessible to them.. This will be the plan..

Oks ba sa inyo ito?

Don't just shoot the fireworks only, cover the event from start to finish.. Take shots of "SAFE" people and capture the wait, the anticipation and their reactions during the fireworks display.. This is also an event cum street style photography practice..

Lahat ng strobist and Flash user's

Tips.. At night, set your shutter speeds between 1/125 sec to 1/60 sec or turn on the slow sync flash setting on your cameras (when on tripod) to let in as much ambient light in your shots.. Flash in TTL or Manual mode.. Take test shots to set your aperture, ISO and exposure. Careful not to ever fire your flash directly inline and infront of other photographer's camera lenses.. "Kung ayaw niyo mabatukan" (correct me if im wrong)..

Scan your surroundings, use the people who wear white shirts and use it as bounce reflector for your flash to diffuse the light..
