We were able to take photos there. Not just near the beach, but in the beach. When in doubt, the rule of thumb is: Ask for permission. Or maybe we were just lucky that a Pinoy guard allowed us to come in. :-) --Last edited by Jeff Arigo on 2008-08-01 23:22:17 -- | |||

To avoid being in a situation like this, it is very important for us to be aware of the photography restrictions in the UAE. It is a must. The Visit Abu Dhabi website mentions that it is only prohibited to take photos of government offices, military installations, and Muslim women. However, some local photo club sites say that taking photos in some other public places, Fish Market for example, are prohibited. Can you believe that?!? Let's compile a list of photography restrictions. Let's know the rules and play by them. What places should we avoid or at least where should we be extremely cautious? | |||

came across this free, online guide to the rules of taking and selling photos... http://www.photosecrets.com/law.right.html may not be all applicable here in the UAE but its a good reference... cheers! Ü |
