Lightsource Filipino Photographers is a free, independent, democratic, and non-profit photography club with activities for Filipinos in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.


What is Lightsource Filipino Photographers or LFP?

LFP is a non-profit photography club that was created to support Filipino photography enthusiasts in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and to form a community that can offer help and support, and a nice place to get together with like-minded individuals.


How do I become a member of LFP?

Membership is open to individuals who are:

a.) At least 18 years of age
b.) holder of a Phillipine passport
c.) a resident of Abu Dhabi
d.) owner of a camera of any kind.

You will be able to get a membership form at events where LFP is participating. You can also send an e-mail to the Secretary at ** email protg ** to request for a membership form.  To become a member, you also have to pay a membership fee (see next item).


Does it cost anything to become a member?

One-time membership fee is 150 AED. This gives you an official shirt and ID, special access to certain parts of the LFP online forum, and the right to participate in members-only events.

You can pay the fee at an LFP event or meeting. You may also send an e-mail to the Treasurer at ** email protg ** to request collection of payment at a mutually convenient date, time and place.


What does LFP do?

That's a hard question to answer because it pretty much depends on what the members want to do. Currently we're organizing photo shoots in Abu Dhabi, but we're also talking to other photography-related companies and organizations about other types of activities. There will be regular LFP meetings for members as well, where we meet up, discuss the club and what we're going to do. Basically, LFP is a community of interested individuals that come together to talk, help each other with problems, learn new skills in photography, and have fun.


When do we meet?

LFP meets on first and third Friday of every month. You can find information about the meeting schedule in the LFP online forum.

What are the benefits of being a member of LFP?

c.) Full access to a dedicated discussion board on http://lightsource.aceboard.com where you can interact with other members, ask questions, and put in suggestions for activities and anything else about what we do
d.) Advice and encouragement from other members.
